Mimetic Art Project Adaptations

Here are two art project options that would work well in the mimetic art unit:
  • Melissa Hafen
Materials Needed
  • White and colored construction paper
  • Pencils
  • Scissors
  • Crayons, Markers and Colored Pencils
  • Glue Sticks
  • Apple Box (one per group)
Ask them to create a picture of their neighborhood based on what it would look like if houses hadn’t been build there.
Allow them to work and groups and use all the materials provided to create a scene.  When they are done, ask each student to explain to their group what they learned and their favorite part of the project.

  •  Elisa Johnson
Materials needed:

  • Poster board
  • Markers
  • Magazines
  • Other items students may decide on using for their project
Project: create a poster or other project to advertise the plan decided upon and post them throughout the school. Decide how long this project will last and the teacher will oversee its implementation and will obtain the necessary permissions.
